As 2016 came to a close, the Illinois’ General Assembly passed one of the most progressive pieces of energy legislation in the country, the Future Energy Jobs Act. Amongst its many benefits, this legislation strengthens and expands the state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard and ensures stable and predictable incentives for solar energy from small residential projects to utility-scale installations. Legislators and stakeholders are working together to finalize incentive structures, which will be released over the course of the next several months.
